Chick Flick Friday - When in Rome...

Saturday night I went out with a friend to dinner and a movie and we decided to go and see "When in Rome" with Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel. I wanted something light and funny and this movie was definitely it!

It's a story about a woman named Beth who is super-ambitious New Yorker who works as a curator for the Guggenheim Museum. Her younger sister is getting married (rather quickly) in Rome and so Beth goes off on a whirlwind trip of 48 hours for the wedding. While there she meets Nick (Josh Duhamel). They dance, they flirt and just when she thinks he could be "someone", she sees him kissing someone else.

Right outside of the reception, there is a fountain - the love fountain (or something like that) where people toss in coins and wish for love. Feeling pretty angry at love at the moment, Beth steals some coins out of the fountain thinking that she is saving these people. But what happens next is that the people who's coins she stole, are now in love with her and following her all over the place back in New York!

The scenarios are really funny but not too outlandish and Nick ends up pursuing Beth, as well. As the story unfolds she comes to believe that Nick is the owner of one of the coins that she stole and finds herself being really disappointed because she's falling in love with him.

All in all, it is a sweet little love story that is comical. If you're looking for a fun movie to see with the girls that doesn't have foul language or nudity, this is it. I will definitely rent this one when it comes out on DVD.
