Chick Flick Friday - 50 First Dates

I am not a huge Adam Sandler fan - it's sort of hit and miss - but this one always makes me smile. The plot is a little up and down - you go from being amused to a little repulsed but for the most part, it's a good movie. "50 First Dates" stars Sandler with Drew Barrymore. Drew's character has a memory problem. She had been in an accident and lost her memory and her family (dad and brother) treat every day as the same day - the last one before her accident - and each night when she goes to bed, she has no memory the next morning of what she's done. This is something that Adam Sandler has no idea of and can't figure out why she never remembers him after they've gone out.

The movie has it's flat spots and honestly, I could do without Rob Schneider's character, but in the end, it's a very sweet love story. Nick and I still laugh to this day (and it's been several years since we've first seen this movie) whenever we hear the Beach Boys "Wouldn't it be Nice".

It's a sweet movie, not a typical Adam Sandler thing if that's what you are looking for. He and Drew Barrymore are good together and when all else fails, it's a good movie to pop in to show that some guys will love you no matter what.
